Tips for Sellers During this Holiday Season
If you are selling your home during this holiday season, remember to keep your decorations tasteful and simple. I realize it is fun to compete with the neighbors to see who can have the tackiest home reminiscent of the "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation" movie, however potential buyers will not see the humor in your competition.
Try to keep in mind the style of your home when putting up Christmas decorations. If your home is a Colonial style, then a gorgeous large wreath on the door will look nice. Or the all white Christmas tree in the front room of your modern style home would fit perfectly. However a dozen pink flamingos covered in lights with Santa hats on does not look good in any yard.

I realize the economy is bad, but there is no excuse for this.
The only reason you need a 30 foot Santa in the yard is to scare buyers away.

This isn't what I had in mind when I suggested keeping it simple.
A simple Christmas tree is nice as long as it does not look anything like this one.
